Myopia Control - Orthokeratology (ORTHO-K)
Ortho-K is a process where the patient wheres specialized contact lenses while they sleep. These contacts gently reshape the eye temporarily, allowing the patient to go glasses and contact lens free during the day time. The contacts are specially designed based on a digital map of your eye which allows for an exact fit. The contact lenses are highly breathable GP contacts which allows for maximum comfort for the wearer during the night.

Our eye Doctor is passionate about Ortho-K because of its ability to promote the self-esteem of kids, reduce the risk of injury from sports, and reduce the progression of myopia. Ortho K is the process of wearing very specialized contacts that are based on a digital map of your eye at night. The contact gently shapes your eye, so that you can see without the aid of glasses or contacts the next day.

One of the big benefits of Ortho-k contacts is that they have been shown effectively reduce the progression of myopia or nearsightedness in children. Myopia affects 42% of Americans and is the sixth leading cause of blindness. Children with Myopia are 4 times more likely to have retinal detachments, and are at higher risk for other eye diseases as they age.
