Matthew Jones O.D., Diplomate American Board of Optometry
Dr. Matthew Jones received his undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville in 2005 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. He attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN graduating with honors in 2009. Dr. Jones is Board Certified with the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Jones serves on the Arkansas Optometric Association Board of Directors, joining the board in 2011. He currently serves as president-elect. He is a part of many committees in the ArOA including career guidance, AOP-PAC, state legal legislative, and national legal legislative where he is keyperson for Congressman Rick Crawford. Dr. Jones volunteers on the board of directors for the Association’s charitable foundation, Vision Arkansas.
Dr. Jones received the ArOA Young Optometrist of the Year Award in 2012. He regularly speaks to current optometry students and serves as the Arkansas representative to SCO's Alumni Council. He is also a volunteer on the CE committee for the Southeastern Council of Optometry, which serves over 25,000 optometrists worldwide.
In the community, Dr. Jones is a member of the Blytheville Rotary Club and currently serves as treasurer on their board . He also volunteers each month at Great River Charitable Clinic providing eye care services. He now serves on the board of the charitable clinic as secretry/treasurer.
Dr. Jones was raised in Madisonville, KY where his family still resides. Outside of the office he enjoys spending time with his family, eating good food, and golfing. He and his wife, Allison, and daughter, Sutton Elizabeth live in Blytheville.
